Our History
“Once upon a time an industrious flour miller decided to build his business at the base of one of the most scenic places in Australia, on the banks of the Tamar River at the mouth of the Cataract Gorge in Launceston, Tasmania.”
Ritchies Mill was originally built in the 1830s to feed the emerging colony. A major renovation of the virtually derelict Mill in 2000 brought it back to life as Stillwater Café, Restaurant and Wine Bar.
Today the Mill continues to feed the colony as Stillwater enters its second decade of operation.
